TOON TOWN - LO

This has got to be one of my favorite LO's to date.  Not because of the LO itself, but because of the wonderful photos my husband was able to capture.  These photos were taken during our family's dream vacation to Walt Disney World over 10 years ago. The smiles on our girls' faces say it all!!  I love that my husband was able to capture Caitlin's and Brittany's laughter during this roller coaster ride.  I love the look of Caitlin's face when the ride suddenly drops on her and I love her big sister's face as she is laughing at her.  Most of all I love the memories it brings back of this perfect vacation!!

At the time, however, I was not loving my husband sitting in the front car of the roller coaster holding the camera while turning to face the girls with the ride in motion.  I was so afraid that he was going to drop the camera as the ride was pretty wild.  I have to say though that these photos make me laugh each and every time I look at them and remember how much the girls LOVED this ride.

COLORING EGGS - LO

I must be subconsciously ready for Easter as I am posting yet another LO of the daycare kids coloring their Easter eggs.  I haven't even started my Valentine's yet, so there is no way I should even be thinking of Easter....but yet I am.  :)

This LO served two purposes.  #1 - get a lot of photos on one LO and #2 use up some buttons from my HUGE button stash.  The eggs were hand drawn and I used my poor neglected Cricut to cut out the title.  The word "coloring" was cut with the Street Signs cart at 1 3/4" and "eggs" was cut using the Storybook cart at 1 1/2".

I hope everyone has a terrific Monday!!!

BEACH FUN - LO

The hardest part of this LO was taking the photos.  Nothing like tempting fate while standing on a rolling chair on new wood floors trying to snap that perfect photo.  I guess you can say I like to live on the edge.  I hate taking photos of LO's.  They don't fit in my light box, the light is never great for taking pics when I get around to doing it, and there's also that whole tempting fate thing.

This was a quick and simple LO of our trip to the beach last year with our niece and nephew.  I used a few different Cricut carts to complete it.  The title was cut using Pack Your Bags cartridge at 2".  I altered the title a bit as it had a chair and bucket attached to it, but it looked a little busy to me. So I cut them off.  The sun is from the Doodle Charms cart cut at 2", the ball and bucket were both cut from the Simply Charmed cart.  The ball at 3 1/2' and the bucket at 4 1/2".

I'm hoping someone out there has a easier way to photo LO's.  Any suggestions?  How do you all do it?  Or does everyone risk life and limb and stand on a rolling chair like me?

RADIATOR SPRINGS - LO

It has been WAY too long since I have completed a LO for my own family album.  I didn't realize how much I missed it.  I have been so busy with gift type projects, cards or other crafts that I haven't really made the time to tackle the NUMEROUS photos I have taken of our recent trips or events and they are starting to pile up.  YIKES!!

Here is a LO I created of our most recent trip to Disneyland this past November.  We were especially excited to go this time as we were getting the chance to check out the new "Cars Land" that just opened this past summer.  It was AMAZING!!!  Looks just like the Radiator Springs in the movie.

My "Radiator Springs" LO includes photos of one of the new rides, "Radiator Springs Racers".  We rode this ride twice, it was so much fun!

All of the cars and the LO title were cut with the Disney Cars Cricut cartridge at 3 1/2 inches.  I created the background scene (in hopes of recreating the canyon-esque scenery of the ride) by tearing, crumbling and inking several strips of kraft paper.

As we are planning on going back to Disneyland in February with extended family I really must get on the ball and complete more LO's.  This is just a start.

McDONALD'S - LO

This LO was a total cheat to complete as I used a kit from Cut-it-Up. I just had to share it because who really scrap's eating at McDonald's? LOL

Apparently I am one of those people. Who could resist though with these cute little faces?!?

PUMP IT UP - LO

I love LO's that incorporate a lot of pictures, especially since I tend to take a ton of photos at every event.

This LO is really super easy and quick to complete. I just stuck with the 3 colors of card stock to match the inflatable play equipment in the photos, added a few random circles, completed my journaling on vellum and added my title, cut from the Mickey Font Cricut cartridge, to finish. All in all, only took me about 45 minutes. I think I took the longest time on it making sure my blocks all lined up neatly.

Kind of plain and simple but used quite a few photos so I am happy with it.

I THINK I CAN - LO

This LO was very simple and very quick to put together. The photos are from a trip to the Train Museum we took our niece and a few of the daycare babes to. They have a huge play area on the second floor with 3 huge play train tables. One of them has a tunnel and a clear dome you can pop into in the middle of the table and watch the toy trains as they ride by you. Super fun!

The title was cut using the Base Camp Cricut Cartridge and I cheated with a pre-painted wooden train embellishment from Michael's. Like I said, simple and quick.

LOVE KEEPS OUR HEART'S WARM - LO

I know, I know, yet another snow day post. :) I really love this one though as it is not too often that hubby and I take pics of ourselves....and even rarer that I actually scrap them, as I HATE being in front of the camera and am way more comfortable behind it. The girls took these pics of us and I could not help but scrap them as we had so much fun that day and well...I love this man of mine. LOL

The snowmen are a pp pattern from Cropy Cats. Nothing else really to this one except a few buttons and a heart punch.

Great, looking at these photos, I realize I hate this jacket, makes me look like the Michelin Man. LOL!!

SANTA BABY - LO

Is this not the cutest Santa you have ever seen? These photos are quite old of my nephew Landon as he is 4 years old now, but I could not help but to share this LO I did of him dressed up in his Santa outfit.

The title and Ho Ho Ho was cut using the Cricut Base Camp cartridge (a oldie but goodie), the presents are Quick Kutz dies and the Santa is a paper piece pattern from Windows of Time.

Anybody else just not quite ready to admit that Christmas is over? Sigh.... :)

SNOWMEN ARE THE COOLEST - LO

Here is another LO of our trip to the snow. Doesn't this look like a picture tutorial on how to build a snowman? LOL The snowman is a paper piece pattern from Cropy Cats and the title is cut using the Opposites Attract Cricut Cartridge.

Hope everyone is having an excellent Monday!!

IT'S SNOW TIME! - LO

I just love the photos on this LO. We had the best time that day in the snow. Ever the ladies that we are, we posed ever so gracefully for the 3rd photo from the left. This is one of my favorite photos of the girls and I. It truly captures our relationship with each other. We are always silly and totally ridiculous, but I would have it no other way!!

Did you all notice my new watermark? A BIG BIG thank you to my friend Jeri from Crafty J's Place for not only creating the watermark for me but for being ever so patient as I attempted to get it copied and pasted on my photos. I admit I am very challenged when it comes to this kind of stuff but after a dozen or so e-mails back and forth and lots of swearing on my end, I finally got it. Thank you Jeri!!

SAIL ME AWAY - LO

I had never heard of a "Raingutter Regatta" until Caitlin and I joined Girl Scouts. This was such a fun event! Caitlin and Scott took part in the "Me & My Guy Raingutter Regatta Race" that our Girl Scout Service Unit put on. They had to put a boat together and then blow it across a raingutter filled with water that was propped up on two saw horses. It was fun to watch the two of them work on their boat together and then have to race it. They didn't win any prizes that day but the two of them certainly had a great time!!

LET'S FLY A KITE - LO

On one particular breezy afternoon Scott decided to take the girls out to fly their kite at the park right around the corner from our home. Since I can count on one hand how many times they have had the opportunity to fly their kite I had to capture the moment with this LO.

The title was cut using the Coluzzle and the kites were paper pieced from a pattern.

Looking at this LO I realize I can not wait for breezy fall afternoons.

SANDCASTLES - LO

Another LO of our day trip to Bodega Bay with our niece Alyssa. In this one her and Caitlin are making sand castles. They could have stayed at the beach for several days without a care in the world. They had so much fun.

The title was cut using the Mickey Font Cricut cartridge and the sandcastles were paper pieced from patterns.

Thanks for looking and I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

SWIMSUIT SEASON - LO

Oh my goodness how I love these photos!!! These photos were taken of our niece Alyssa when she was little. We had bought her some swimsuits for her first trip to Hawaii with her Mom and Dad and put them on her for a little fashion show. I just LOVE babies in swimsuits!! They always look so stinking cute and our niece is just the cutest!!

The title was cut using the Quik Kutz "Venus" font set and the swimsuits are paper pieced. I tried to make the pink bikini resemble the bikini we bought Alyssa. She is definitely a bathing suit cutie!
As a follow up to my previous post; our anniversary dinner was delicious. The girls did a great job and our steaks were cooked to perfection thanks to the assistance of a Paula Dean recipe. Can't go wrong with Paula Dean!

OUR BEACH TRIP - LO

We took a day trip to Bodega Bay a few years ago and brought our niece, Alyssa with us. She is so stinking adorable and loved spending the day at the beach.
The title was cut using the Base Camp Cricut cartridge and the rest of the details on the LO were made by tearing the cardstock into the shapes I needed.
The cutest story about the sand dollar pictured in this LO: our girls and Alyssa were combing the beach for sea shells with no success. There was a older couple walking along the beach that called to Alyssa and our youngest daughter, Caitlin and asked them if they noticed this item in the sand. There were two sand dollars right there in a area that they had just inspected, one for each girl. Both girls were very excited to find sand dollars in such great condition and they were huge!! Scott then confided in me that he had seen the couple drop them for the girls to find. That couple whoever they were, sure made those girls' day special with their found treasure!

CARAMEL APPLES - LO

We just love going to Apple Hill every fall. We love picking our own apples, checking out all of the craft booths, sipping apple cider, buying apple pies for the holidays, but most importantly we LOVE caramel apples!!

Simple LO using a paper pieced caramel apple and the Don Juan Cricut Cartridge (at least I think that was the cart I used) for the title.

Looking at these photos makes me wish for fall and a trip up to Apple Hill.

BEACH BABES - LO

I cheated on this LO and used a kit that I bought at the Scrapbook Expo a few months ago. The kit is from Cut-It-Up. All of the pieces are already cut out for you, you just add the details (chalk, inking or doodling) and put it all together. I didn't use all of the pieces that came in the kit as I would have only been able to put two photos on the LO. So I have some more "babes" for another LO.

The photos were taken in Pacifica this past summer. We love the beach!!!
