BUTTERFLY BIRTHDAY WISHES - CARD

Has everyone heard of Pinterest? It's basically a virtual pinboard where you can collect (pin) pictures of just about anything your little ol' heart desires for inspiration. You can create boards of inspiration for recipes, wedding ideas, paper crafting, fashion, and well, anything really.

I stumbled upon the idea for this card on Pinterest. I regret that the original creator of this card was not posted on the Pinterest site so I can not give proper credit. If anyone out there knows who made this, please let me know as I would like to give credit where credit is due. I did change it up just a little bit by adding the scalloped edge and the colors on the side of the card. The original creator also sewed the butterflies onto the card but the sewing machine and I had a parting of ways so I opted to glue instead.

If you have not checked out Pinterest before I highly recommend it. I am overwhelmed with what I have discovered that you can make with Nutella. Homemade poptarts?! Yum!! Let me know if anyone needs a invite, you don't need one to browse, but to create boards you need one, and I can get one out to you.

GLEE LIVE TOUR 2011

No crafty post today. Just wanted to share where the family and I spent the evening last night. Yep, at the GLEE LIVE TOUR 2011!!! Our daughters LOVE LOVE LOVE Glee and were over the moon when our oldest daughter won 4 tickets to see it. Not only did she win tickets but she won floor seats!! We were only 11 rows back from the stage. The girls were in heaven and I had the greatest time watching their faces during the whole show. It was AMAZING...they were so happy!!

I think this face pretty much says it all!!!

Born this way!

These smiles are because of ..........

...of him. The girls LOVE Darren Criss.

BLOOMING BIRTHDAY - CARD

How adorable is this? This is the first time I have made one of these flower pot pocket cards and I am hooked. I plan on making several more just to have on hand. It is super cute and so easy to make. I found a really great tutorial HERE. Oh and I have a small confession to make, I have had these felt flowers in my stash for 3+ years. I hate it when I find stuff that I have bought and have not used, makes me feel a little guilty. Maybe I should go shopping to make myself feel better. LOL! ;)

CUTIES ON COASTERS

When you work with such cuties every single day it is impossible not to incorporate their cute little faces on every single project that I may make for their parents. This year I decided to make coasters for all of my daycare mommies. They were super easy to make and cost very little. I was able to get the tiles at Lowe's for 16 cents a piece and added several coats of Modge Podge and a couple of coats of water sealant to protect them. I also added some felt to the back to protect the surfaces they may be placed on.

I just love how they turned out. The mommies were lucky to get them as I wanted to keep them for myself. LOL

CRAFT US CRAZY CHALLENGE #8

CHALLENGE #8 - SOMETHING NEW OR YOUR FAVORITE EMBELLISHMENT

Is it just me or does time seem to be going by super fast? I feel like it was just a few short weeks ago that CRAFT US CRAZY was rolling out with our very first challenge and now here we are getting ready to start challenge #8! The response to our challenges has been overwhelming. I can not get over all of the beautiful creations out there, it is amazing!!

The theme for this challenge is to complete a project with a "something new" theme,(think new car, new baby, new home, etc or something new to your project that you have not used before) or to use your favorite embellishment. I chose to complete a LO of my oldest daughter's first big girl purchase a few weeks ago......a new car. She may be in debt now, but she is loving her new car and she looks way cute behind the wheel of it too! I used very little materials for this LO as everything was paper pieced.

We have some really great sponsors lined up for this challenge. For the entire month of May we have THE CUTTING CAFE, and for this particular challenge we have DIGITAL DELIGHTS and THE PIXIE COTTAGE sponsoring us. Please hop on over to the CRAFT US CRAZY challenge blog to find out all about our terrific sponsors this challenge. I hope to see you all join us!

MY SPRING WREATH

I thought I would share with you all what I spent most of my time working on last week. Yep, this plain little wreath.....took FOREVER to make! Maybe because I am a slow crafter, maybe because I am glue gun challenged (I swear they give me nightmares) or maybe it's because it took 1000 scalloped circles, that were cut out and then glued onto a foam circle to create this. Yes I said 1000.

This little beauty was created using approximately 100 brown paper lunch sacks. I found this wonderful blog, called MARYJANES & GALOSHES, and she created this wreath. You can find the link for the directions HERE. However I have one question. Her instructions stated she used 6-8 lunch sacks. I used over 100, I cut my circles the same size per her instructions....just how tiny is that wreath of hers? Is it for a doll house? LOL Okay that is 2 questions, but seriously I want to know how she only got away with using 6-8 lunch bags. How big is her lunch in one of those bags?

Anyways, the butterflies were cut out using the Indie Art Cricut cartridge at various sizes. I am happy with how it turned out but I never want to see a brown paper lunch sack again! BTW, a big shout out to my daughter Brittany who helped me cut out the circles. If it wasn't for her I don't think it would be hanging on our door!
