TIME TO GROW - CARD

I am a creature of habit.  I tend to create the same type of cards using the same type of stamps from my favorite companies.  I always reach for my Anya stamps from the GREETING FARM or my WHIMSIE DOODLES digi images.  I think it's because I am more comfortable with coloring these images with my Copics as I have had more practice with them.  Give me something new and I freak out a little, stressed that the coloring is not going to be up to par.   I told myself that this year I was going to broaden my horizons and venture out and try new stamp companies.  So when my LSS had a sidewalk clearance sale I decided to seize the day and purchase stamps that I might not normally purchase....and at a fraction of the cost, I might add.  ;)

You know what??  I didn't freak out... and I am actually in love with this stamp.  The image is from the SWALK (Sealed With a Little Kiss) line from Santoro.  I just love the sweet little faces of these images.

So tell me, what stamp company or technique is your go to?

RAIN OR SHINE - CARD

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend!!  I have a quick card to share with you all.  I purchased this stamp set last weekend while at my LSS.  I could not wait to get the chance to play with it.  I'm also really digging paper piecing images lately.  Makes for a quick card.

The stamped image is Puddle Jumper from MY FAVORITE THINGS.  The patterned paper is from my scrap stash and the pearls are from K&Company.  I didn't like the look of the white pearls so I colored them with my Copics to make them match my patterned paper.  I also didn't have the right colored twine, so I colored it as well.

Well I'm off to spend more time in my craft studio.  I hope everyone finds a little time to create today as well.

JUST A LITTLE FUN COLORING - CARDS

Just a quick post to show you all what I completed this weekend.  I took my first ever Copic class on Saturday and completed these simple cards.  I am looking forward to taking another one real soon that hopefully is a little more advanced.  I was hoping to learn about shadowing, coloring hair and skin, etc.  However what I signed up for was Copic 101.  The class did have a few good tips but was not what I was looking for. Oh, and taking a Copic class WILL NOT help you learn to color inside the lines...don't look too closely at my cards.  ;)

The stamped images were pre-stamped and were given to me in a kit, so I am not sure who they're made by.  I think the instructor said it's a stamp/die combo set. Anyways, it's a gorgeous set and I think I need it.

Happy Tuesday!!

CRAFT US CRAZY CHALLENGE #7

CHALLENGE #7 - MOTHER'S DAY OR FLOWERS

I love Thursdays, because it means challenge time again over at CRAFT US CRAZY! It is exciting, challenge after challenge, to see all of the fantastic entry projects. Each and every one of them are so incredible. I can't wait to see the entries for this challenge. Speaking of which, this week's challenge theme is Mother's Day or flowers. Both of which go hand in hand in my opinion.

We have three AWESOME sponsors for this challenge: the CUTTING CAFE is our monthly sponsor until the end of May and both MELJIN'S DESIGNS and YOUR NEXT STAMP are sponsors for challenge #7. Check out their info and all of the challenge details over at the CRAFT US CRAZY blog.

My project for this challenge is a card using the "sunflower buggies" image from MELJIN'S DESIGNS. I chose to create more of a plain card with no patterned paper or embellishments because I think this image is so cute it can stand on it's own!!

Don't forget to join us over at CRAFT US CRAZY this week to show off your wonderful creation!!

CUC SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT - STAMPFAIRY #2

I have another adorable image from STAMPFAIRY, who is this month's sponsor over at CRAFT US CRAZY. Don't you just love this sweet little image? Meet Lenny and he can be purchased along with several other totally adorable images over at STAMPFAIRY.

What do you think of this fold? I found this fold idea on one of my favorite blogs to follow, STAMPOWL'S STUDIO. Her card using this fold is just gorgeous and better yet she provides the TEMPLATE.

My card is kind of simple and plain: just a few pattern pieces of paper, the image and a few skittles.

Here is the card all folded up.......

CUC SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT - STAMPFAIRY

My post today is to showcase an image from our current monthly sponsor over at CRAFT US CRAZY. Our sponsor for this month is STAMPFAIRY. I had the honor of getting to work with the "Patsy, April Showers" digi image from STAMPFAIRY. Just how cute is she? The inside of the card reads, "rainy day friend". I can see a get well card made with her as well, with a "feeling under the weather?" sentiment. Here's a little bit of information on STAMPFAIRY: Stamp Fairy officially launched in 2010. Gerda, artist and owner, creates cute and whimsical digital images for the young and old, inspired by her life, love and 4 cute cats. You will find adorable teddies bears, young boys and girls, fuzzy little bunnies and whimsical critters. Stamp Fairy has up to 40 new releases per month along with a free image every Friday, a weekly challenge on Mondays and Guest Designers each month on their challenge blog. YOU'RE FINTASTIC - CARD

I made this card for a "fin-tastic" friend. I know you have all seen this stamp numerous times before from me, but it is one of my favorites. It's the Mermaid Anya from the Greeting Farm. I can't tell you who makes the patterned paper as it is from my scrap stash. Looking at this card and the papers now, it seems really bright, almost too loud, perfect for summer.

YOU MAKE ME SMILE - CARD

I just love this image from Penny Black. It's titled "Love Conquers". The little snail is simply adorable.

Gamsol and my Prisma pencils were used to color the image in. The papers used were borrowed from my scrap stash and the "for you" sentiment is a Studio G dollar stamp.

Have a great weekend everyone and HAPPY 4TH!!

FRIENDS FOREVER - CARD

How cute is this stamp? It's actually a digital stamp that I found on this blog: http://whimsiedoodles.blogspot.com/ She has the most adorable digital stamps on her blog that she also sells on her Etsy store. The stamp I used on this card however is a FREEBIE!!

That's right I said freebie, so hop on over and download it for yourself, while you are there check out her other images they are too cute. I was fortunate enough to win some blog candy that she offered over the weekend and I have two more images coming my way. Yay me!!

I used my new Copics to color in the image. The sentiment is from some random stamp I had in my stash. I should mention that the freebie image comes with the sentiment "this bud's for you".

I have a link to both the blog and the Etsy store on the right of my blog...check it out.
