YOU'RE AWESOME ALYSSA - CARD

WARNING: Proud Auntie brag moment ahead.  Last weekend my niece, Alyssa who is only 10 years old, had competition team soccer tryouts.  Per my SIL it was a very full and intense weekend of tryouts....and guess what, she made the team and was presented with an offer.  We are so proud of her and there was never any doubt in my mind that she would make it!!

To congratulate her I whipped up a very simple card letting her know just how awesome I think she is.  The cute little bear stamp is from WHIPPER SNAPPER DESIGNS and the sentiment is from LAWN FAWN.

RAIN OR SHINE - CARD

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend!!  I have a quick card to share with you all.  I purchased this stamp set last weekend while at my LSS.  I could not wait to get the chance to play with it.  I'm also really digging paper piecing images lately.  Makes for a quick card.

The stamped image is Puddle Jumper from MY FAVORITE THINGS.  The patterned paper is from my scrap stash and the pearls are from K&Company.  I didn't like the look of the white pearls so I colored them with my Copics to make them match my patterned paper.  I also didn't have the right colored twine, so I colored it as well. 

Well I'm off to spend more time in my craft studio.  I hope everyone finds a little time to create today as well.

JUST A LITTLE FUN COLORING - CARDS

Just a quick post to show you all what I completed this weekend.  I took my first ever Copic class on Saturday and completed these simple cards.  I am looking forward to taking another one real soon that hopefully is a little more advanced.  I was hoping to learn about shadowing, coloring hair and skin, etc.  However what I signed up for was Copic 101.  The class did have a few good tips but was not what I was looking for. Oh, and taking a Copic class WILL NOT help you learn to color inside the lines...don't look too closely at my cards.  ;)

The stamped images were pre-stamped and were given to me in a kit, so I am not sure who they're made by.  I think the instructor said it's a stamp/die combo set. Anyways, it's a gorgeous set and I think I need it.

THANK YOU MISS JOSIE.....YOU ARE THE SWEETEST!! - CARD

As stated in my previous blog post, one of my daycare babes, Miss Josie, started kindergarten last month. I hear she absolutely loves it and I am sure she has made a ton of new friends!! This is a thank you card I made for her after receiving the most adorable card (wait til' you see the envelope she decorated for it....it's too cute!!) and present from her last week.

This is my first attempt at the shaker box/treat cup type of card. I think it turned out "okay" but I am not entirely too happy with it. As you can see the confetti I used for the inside keeps clinging to the sides of the plastic where I glued it down. I definitely need to play with this type of card some more. The stamped image is from the Greeting Farm and is called Princess Anya. For the plastic cup I re-purposed the plastic covering of the red tacky tape container.

This is what prompted the creation of the thank you card. Here is my present from Josie. It's more Greeting Farm stamps. That girl sure knows what I like. Here is the adorable envelope she made to hold the present and card. All of the daycare babes call me "Bebba" as Deborah is too hard for them to say when they start talking.........

.......and here is the inside of the card. Look how great her printing is already. She is way too smart for kindergarten!! Thanks again Josie and as always.....YOU ROCK!!!

THANKS - CARD

Here is yet another "thank you" card. The stamped image is from Penny black and is titled "Sweet Catch". Of course my Bellas are my first love, but the Penny Black hedge hogs sure come in a close second!! I used my Prisma pencils and Gamsol. Oh and I broke down and bought 4 of the Copic markers to play with this weekend. Did I mention they were a little on the expensive side? $6.50 a piece...YIKES!!! Which explains why I only bought four of them. I will let you all know how I like them after I play with them a little. If there is someone out there that knows a good video or can give me any tips, I'm all ears.

THANK YOU - CARD

I am really happy with how this one turned out. Though it looks pretty simple it took a little more time than the other thank you cards did. The white paper is handmade paper that I ran through the cuttlebug using the Birds and Swirls embossing folder. I then used my Prisma pencils to color the embossed details. Then I hand sewed the little flower sequins (I don't know who makes them. I bought them some time ago from my LSS for $1 and they came in a clear little baggie.) and the beads. That is where most of the time was spent....those silly little beads with holes too little for my needle to pass through...arghh! So I would thread the needle, run it through the sequin, take the needle off the thread and try to poke the ends of the thread through the seed bead. Then back on the needle goes and through my card to secure it all...for each and every flower. Now I remember why I don't do a lot of sewing on my cards or layouts...I am needle challenged.

THANK EWE - CARD

I love the color combination of black, white and red. The patterned paper for this card is from the DCWV Glitter Stack. The stamp (I don't own it but I do have it on my wish list, I believe it's item # 417 on my list..or something like that) is from Stampin' Up's "Pun Fun" set. Each and every single one of the stamps in this set is adorable! I used my Prismas and Gamsol and the Threading Water border punch from Fiskars....oh and stickles. My "no stamp" challenge has kind of gone out the window, but you all should be proud of me...you haven't seen one Bella..yet.

BEE THANKING YOU - CARD

Thank you card #3. Another very simple, not much to it card. The stamp is the "Bee Thankful" stamp from Stampendous. I love these bees, they are so stinking cute and quick and easy to color. I also used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and the Fiskars Threading Water border punch. Yep, you guessed it, stickles on the wings of the bee and the flowers. Yes, I am outta control.

THANK U - CARD

Here is a quick "thank you" card that I whipped up. I love the Changito Monkey stamps. They are so adorable. This stamp is "Changito Thank U" by Stampendous. I used my Prismas pencils and the Gamsol technique. I still really want to try the Copic Markers, I prefer the vibrancy of the markers over the pencils. I used one of the Cuttlebug "With Love" border embossing folders. I have had them for awhile but today was the first time I broke it out of the package. Staying true to form I added tons of sparkle with stickles.

THANKS SO MUCH - CARD

I will be in total "Thank You" card making mode for the next several days. Now that my Girl Scout troops are done with all of their site sales, I need to make thank you cards for the several stores that were generous enough to allow our girls to peddle cookies in front of their locations.

Here is a simple card that I just finished up. I did fall of the wagon a little with my no stamp challenge, but hey it's not a Bella right? I can not recall what company makes this gorgeous flourish stamp. I got it at Joann's and it was on clearance. The little flowers are Primas and the sentiment is a Studio G dollar stamp from Michael's. One down.....
