COLORING EGGS - LO

I must be subconsciously ready for Easter as I am posting yet another LO of the daycare kids coloring their Easter eggs.  I haven't even started my Valentine's yet, so there is no way I should even be thinking of Easter....but yet I am.  :)

This LO served two purposes.  #1 - get a lot of photos on one LO and #2 use up some buttons from my HUGE button stash.  The eggs were hand drawn and I used my poor neglected Cricut to cut out the title.  The word "coloring" was cut with the Street Signs cart at 1 3/4" and "eggs" was cut using the Storybook cart at 1 1/2".

I hope everyone has a terrific Monday!!!

BEACH FUN - LO

The hardest part of this LO was taking the photos.  Nothing like tempting fate while standing on a rolling chair on new wood floors trying to snap that perfect photo.  I guess you can say I like to live on the edge.  I hate taking photos of LO's.  They don't fit in my light box, the light is never great for taking pics when I get around to doing it, and there's also that whole tempting fate thing.

This was a quick and simple LO of our trip to the beach last year with our niece and nephew.  I used a few different Cricut carts to complete it.  The title was cut using Pack Your Bags cartridge at 2".  I altered the title a bit as it had a chair and bucket attached to it, but it looked a little busy to me. So I cut them off.  The sun is from the Doodle Charms cart cut at 2", the ball and bucket were both cut from the Simply Charmed cart.  The ball at 3 1/2' and the bucket at 4 1/2".

I'm hoping someone out there has a easier way to photo LO's.  Any suggestions?  How do you all do it?  Or does everyone risk life and limb and stand on a rolling chair like me?

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY - CARD

Over the next several weeks you will see numerous projects from me that I am way behind in posting. I have some serious catching up to do LOL.

Here is a quick birthday card that I made for my nephew, Ashton, who turned 2 in January...told you I am WAY behind.  Anyways, Ashton LOVES Mickey Mouse. So, it was a no brainer that I would create a card for him with his beloved Mickey on it.
The Mickey was cut from the Mickey & Friends Cricut cart at 5 1/2", the bit of patterned paper is from Reminisce (Happily Ever After) and I used Labels 11 nestabilities.

One post down, several more to go....    :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS - CARD

My poor blog always seems to get neglected right around the end of the school year. This year was exceptionally busy with Caitlin graduating from 8th grade and preparing her for her big New York/D.C. trip. Now that we are past all that I am hoping to get back to being crafty.

Here is a card that I made for one of my cutie patootie daycare babies that turned 2 this past weekend. The image is Princess Anya from The Greeting Farm and the castle was cut from the Doodle Charms Cricut cart. Lots of bling and sparkle on this one for the little princess.

MY SPRING WREATH

I thought I would share with you all what I spent most of my time working on last week. Yep, this plain little wreath.....took FOREVER to make! Maybe because I am a slow crafter, maybe because I am glue gun challenged (I swear they give me nightmares) or maybe it's because it took 1000 scalloped circles, that were cut out and then glued onto a foam circle to create this. Yes I said 1000.

This little beauty was created using approximately 100 brown paper lunch sacks. I found this wonderful blog, called MARYJANES & GALOSHES, and she created this wreath. You can find the link for the directions HERE. However I have one question. Her instructions stated she used 6-8 lunch sacks. I used over 100, I cut my circles the same size per her instructions....just how tiny is that wreath of hers? Is it for a doll house? LOL Okay that is 2 questions, but seriously I want to know how she only got away with using 6-8 lunch bags. How big is her lunch in one of those bags?

Anyways, the butterflies were cut out using the Indie Art Cricut cartridge at various sizes. I am happy with how it turned out but I never want to see a brown paper lunch sack again! BTW, a big shout out to my daughter Brittany who helped me cut out the circles. If it wasn't for her I don't think it would be hanging on our door!

CRAFT US CRAZY CHALLENGE #4

CHALLENGE #4 - CUPCAKE/CELEBRATION THEME

You do know what today is right? It's Thursday, which means challenge day over at CRAFT US CRAZY. Our last challenge had over 180+ entries. What can I say? You guys rock!!! This week the challenge theme is CUPCAKES/CELEBRATION. You can check out all of the challenge and sponsor prize details here. Who are our sponsors for this challenge? For the entire month of March our sponsor is STITCHY BEAR STAMPS and our sponsor for this week's challenge is LIMITED RUNS DIGI'S.

Both my daughter and I have a birthday coming up within the next month and a half, so I thought I would make a banner as my challenge project that we could also use during our birthday celebrations. The banner was super easy to make and using one 12x12 sheet of paper yielded 6 banner flags. The hardest part was taking the pictures and trying to get a decent photo of the whole thing.

A close up pic. The banner says "CELEBRATE" with cupcakes on both ends.

I hope you will join us over at CRAFT US CRAZY this week for what should be a super fun challenge!! Always remember that we love to see all types of crafts during our challenges and it is not necessary to use product from our sponsors to participate, but if you do...awesome!!

BE MINE - LO

Ahhh young love. These photos were taken of gifts that Brittany received from her boyfriend on their very first Valentine's Day together...4 years ago. He was clearly out to impress: roses, stuffed teddy, chocolate and a mushy card. He very sneakily left all of these on our porch in the early morning so as she opened the door to go to school she was surprised with the big haul of loot!

It really did not take a lot to put this LO together. The hearts were cut out from a piece of patterned paper and the title was cut out from the Alphalicious Cricut cartridge.

As I said above they have been going out for 4 years now, but I don't think she has seen a haul like this first one since then. LOL

PUMP IT UP - LO

I love LO's that incorporate a lot of pictures, especially since I tend to take a ton of photos at every event.

This LO is really super easy and quick to complete. I just stuck with the 3 colors of card stock to match the inflatable play equipment in the photos, added a few random circles, completed my journaling on vellum and added my title, cut from the Mickey Font Cricut cartridge, to finish. All in all, only took me about 45 minutes. I think I took the longest time on it making sure my blocks all lined up neatly.

Kind of plain and simple but used quite a few photos so I am happy with it.

I THINK I CAN - LO

This LO was very simple and very quick to put together. The photos are from a trip to the Train Museum we took our niece and a few of the daycare babes to. They have a huge play area on the second floor with 3 huge play train tables. One of them has a tunnel and a clear dome you can pop into in the middle of the table and watch the toy trains as they ride by you. Super fun!

The title was cut using the Base Camp Cricut Cartridge and I cheated with a pre-painted wooden train embellishment from Michael's. Like I said, simple and quick.

SANTA BABY - LO

Is this not the cutest Santa you have ever seen? These photos are quite old of my nephew Landon as he is 4 years old now, but I could not help but to share this LO I did of him dressed up in his Santa outfit.

The title and Ho Ho Ho was cut using the Cricut Base Camp cartridge (a oldie but goodie), the presents are Quick Kutz dies and the Santa is a paper piece pattern from Windows of Time.

Anybody else just not quite ready to admit that Christmas is over? Sigh.... :)

A FABULOUS BIRTHDAY - CARD

If you have not checked out the Slumber Party Cricut cartridge yet, you must. This cart is just fabulous for those that have girls of any age. We have a young friend, of the family, that is celebrating her birthday this weekend. I decided to make this card for her to match the cute little Barbie make-up kit we got her.

All of the cuts from the Slumber Party cart were cut at 2". The sentiment is a Studio G $1 stamp from Michael's. A little ribbon and some bling and you have a fabulous card for a fabulous little girl.

I also made a some treat bags for the chocolate shoes, sunglasses and lipsticks that I made for her to hand out to her party guests.

SNOWMEN ARE THE COOLEST - LO

Here is another LO of our trip to the snow. Doesn't this look like a picture tutorial on how to build a snowman? LOL The snowman is a paper piece pattern from Cropy Cats and the title is cut using the Opposites Attract Cricut Cartridge.

Hope everyone is having an excellent Monday!!

IT'S SNOW TIME! - LO

I just love the photos on this LO. We had the best time that day in the snow. Ever the ladies that we are, we posed ever so gracefully for the 3rd photo from the left. This is one of my favorite photos of the girls and I. It truly captures our relationship with each other. We are always silly and totally ridiculous, but I would have it no other way!!

Did you all notice my new watermark? A BIG BIG thank you to my friend Jeri from Crafty J's Place for not only creating the watermark for me but for being ever so patient as I attempted to get it copied and pasted on my photos. I admit I am very challenged when it comes to this kind of stuff but after a dozen or so e-mails back and forth and lots of swearing on my end, I finally got it. Thank you Jeri!!
