DAD - CARD

Quick post for today....still trying to get caught up on posting all of my projects to date.

Here is a simple and quick Father's Day card that I whipped up for all of the daycare babies' dads.  The stamp is from Stampendous, it's called "Dad Words".  The patterned paper is from my scrap stash.  This year I had all of the kids make bar-b-q sauce from scratch.  We then bottled it and made recipe cards with their pics and attached them to all of the jars as gifts for each of their dads.  They looked so cute with their little chef hats, I almost did not want to give their little recipe cards away.  :)

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY - CARD

I think I told you all that I had my eye on a certain stamp over at Whimsie Doodles.....well here it is.

Below is a quick Father's Day card and little gift that I made for my Dad and FIL. The little gift is actually a bottle of homemade Apple Bar-b-que Sauce that I whipped up yesterday. The bottle is a 14 oz. ketchup bottle that I emptied out. The recipe below is enough to make one bottle of sauce.

APPLE BAR-B-QUE SAUCE

1/2 c. apple jelly
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
3 oz. tomato paste
1/4 c. vinegar
2 T. light brown sugar
2 T. water
1 t. hot sauce
1/4 t. salt
1/4 t. ground cloves
Bring all ingredients to a boil and simmer for 20-25 minutes. Cool, cover and refrigerate.

FATHER'S DAY - CARD

Now that graduation is over I can concentrate on other things, like Father's Day. Here is a card that I made for one of the daycare kids to give to their dad. The stamp is "dad words -Q144" from Stampendous. Pretty simple card, I stamped the image once on the white card stock and then again on the background paper and cut out the word "dad" and adhered it to the cardstock. Doesn't get much simpler than that.
