VALENTINE'S - CARD

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, I thought I would share another Valentine's Day card.  The inspiration for this card came from several versions of it that I saw on Pinterest.  I have mentioned how obsessed I am with Pinterest right?

A little bit of embossing, a few heart punches and a border punch and this card came together quickly.

I'm off to spend some more time on Pinterest.  If anyone loves buffalo wings, you should try the "Crispy Buffalo Chicken Strips" recipe floating around on Pinterest....to DIE for!!

BIRTHDAY ELMO - CARD

Today I am sharing a card that I made for a sweet little friend of the family who turned 2. His mom mentioned he likes Sesame Street so I had a reason to finally use my Sesame Street Friends Cricut cartridge that I have had for over 2 years and have NEVER used.  I usually only buy my craft supplies if I have an immediate use or project in mind for them.  This purchase was not the case.  However in my defense I did purchase this cart on sale for only $5.  I HAD to buy it at that price right?

Elmo was cut at 4 1/2 inches and the #2, which was cut from the same cart, was cut at 1 inch.  The patterend paper is from my never ending scrap stash.  I decided to keep the card simple so Jackson could focus on Elmo and not all of the embellishments and bling that I usually like to add.

Happy Birthday Jackson!!

VALENTINE'S WREATH

Since I have discovered Pinterest I have been challenging myself to make more of our home's holiday decorations verses buying them.  I saw THIS wreath on Pinterest and set out to make one for our front door.

It was a little time consuming, wrapping the yarn around and around, to get the desired thickness of the heart I wanted, but it was very easy to make.  I love how it turned out and it cost me next to nothing.  I think my next project will be THIS adorable heart garland.  What do you all think?

BIRTHDAY WISHES - CARD

My sweet little nephew turned 3 recently.  It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating his first birthday.  I swear before you know it he will be visiting his Auntie Bebba at her nursing home.  ;)

During Christmas Brittany gave Ashton a small toy plane.  It was a BIG hit with him.  So it was easy to come up with a theme for his card.  I cut the airplane from the "B is for Boy" Cricut cartridge at 3 inches.  The #3 was cut using the Calvin font from Quickutz and the clouds were cut from a Sizzix die.

I always feel a little lost when making cards without a stamped image, however this one came together quickly and I am happy with the finished product.

Happy Birthday Ashton!!

LET'S CELEBRATE - CARD

At first I will admit, I was not happy with this card.  However, it is now starting to grow on me a little and is not quite the disaster I thought it was.   I think I was most unhappy with how the coloring of this image turned out.  I haven't played with my Copics in a while, and well it shows.  I think I need more practice.

The image is a digi stamp (Chibi Cupcakes) from THE GREETING FARM that was colored (not to great, might I add) using Copic markers.  The patterned paper is from my scrap stash and the sentiment is from the Inviting stamp set by Stampin' Up.

That's it for now, I'm off to play (practice) with my Copics some more.  :)

RADIATOR SPRINGS - LO

It has been WAY too long since I have completed a LO for my own family album.  I didn't realize how much I missed it.  I have been so busy with gift type projects, cards or other crafts that I haven't really made the time to tackle the NUMEROUS photos I have taken of our recent trips or events and they are starting to pile up.  YIKES!!

Here is a LO I created of our most recent trip to Disneyland this past November.  We were especially excited to go this time as we were getting the chance to check out the new "Cars Land" that just opened this past summer.  It was AMAZING!!!  Looks just like the Radiator Springs in the movie.

My "Radiator Springs" LO includes photos of one of the new rides, "Radiator Springs Racers".  We rode this ride twice, it was so much fun!

All of the cars and the LO title were cut with the Disney Cars Cricut cartridge at 3 1/2 inches.  I created the background scene (in hopes of recreating the canyon-esque scenery of the ride) by tearing, crumbling and inking several strips of kraft paper.

As we are planning on going back to Disneyland in February with extended family I really must get on the ball and complete more LO's.  This is just a start.

NAIL POLISH PENDANT

Is anybody else as addicted to Pinterest as I am?  OMGosh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Pinterest!!  I love having one spot to bookmark anything and everything I could possibly want to cook, create, or buy in the near future.  I have actually created quite a few projects and tried several recipes and have had success 99.9% of the time.  Chicken Roll Ups = .1% (yuck).

I found this clever idea on Pinterest and knew right away that I had to make one.  So simple and I think the finished product is gorgeous.  It's basically glitter nail polish on the back of a glass bauble or tile.  You then glue the bauble/tile to a necklace pendant.  The possibilities are endless when you think of all the gorgeous nail polish colors out there.  I was very happy with the end result.

The link for the pendant tutorial can be found HERE.  The little gift box was made out of two paint sample cards.  Idea for the box also came from Pinterest and you can find the tutorial for the box HERE. If you are not familiar with Pinterest you should really consider checking it out....you don't know what you're missing.  ;)

BIRTHDAY WISHES - CARD

Now that the holidays are over I am back to crafting and having time for catching up with my creative friends in the blogging community.

Here is a really simple birthday card that I put together for one of my neighbors.  I CASE'd this from a card I found on Pinterest created by Jen Sannes.  I love how simple and clean it is.

I'm really excited to share a few other projects that I have completed that I found on Pinterest in the next few weeks.  Now I am off to see what everyone else has been creating.  :)
